Plate, Auger End (w/ Nylontron Bushing)
We highly recommend that you install the newer style Nylontron bearing to your auger assembly to replace your older brass bearing. Also, if the older style bronze oilite auger bushing is loose in the mounting plate at all, it will stall the motor periodically. In effect, as the auger shaft turns so does the bushing, and it acts like a disc brake, working against the motor. Older style bearings need to be replaced with the newer Nylatron bearings. To test, remove auger motor, empty pellets from hopper, and see how the auger spins in the current bushing. If the brass bushing spins, it will act like a disc brake. The auger should spin easily with finger pressure when hopper is empty and motor removed. This will increase the lifetime of your auger motors and warrantee coverage may be voided if the auger motor fails and you do not have this change done already.
